What the first brief has to settle
These six checks keep a brand-led search from turning into quotations that cannot be lined up. A usable brief names the buyer’s own figures, such as a 12 ft by 40 ft footprint, a 9 ft eave height, wind speed in mph, and ground snow load in psf. Those are inputs to collect, not a claim that any factory has already been audited.
Module dimensions
Record length, width, eave height, corridor width, and any split between open plan and enclosed rooms before asking for a plan.
Design loads
Ask each factory to quote against the same design live load, design dead load, wind exposure category, and roof snow criteria.
Code jurisdiction
Name the state or city and the code edition the project expects to follow. A homepage badge is not project approval.
Quantity and timing
Separate the number of units from the requested delivery window, and say whether partial shipments are acceptable.
Scope boundary
Mark shell, delivered, installed, or a wider package so transport, foundation, and utilities are not mixed into one unlabeled total.
