Independent sourcing responsibility

How ForgeWorks Sourcing handles a building brief

The desk writes down what the buyer will accept, sends that text to factories, and returns the replies with their exclusions still visible. It is an independent sourcing partner. It is not kleusberg, it does not claim authorized dealer status, and it does not present itself as the plant that builds the units.

Review RFQ Checklist
  1. Capture use and occupancy
  2. Lock dimensions and loads
  3. Name the jurisdiction
  4. Fix quantity and destination
  5. Split the scope lines
  6. File the open questions

Sequence the buyer can expect

These are coordination stages. They are not company history, plant openings, or audited production years.

01

Brief intake

The buyer sends use, module dimensions, quantity, destination, and the reference being compared. A complete line might read 12 ft by 40 ft, eave height 9 ft, quantity 4 modules, destination ZIP left for the buyer to type. Missing loads or an unknown jurisdiction are marked as open, not filled in by the desk.

02

Supplier questions

Factories receive the same worksheet. Each reply must name the system, the scope, and the documents offered. A brochure photo is not treated as a quotation.

03

Line-by-line compare

Included, excluded, optional, and substituted items stay in separate columns. Shell and installed packages are not averaged into one number.

04

Buyer decision

The buyer and the project professionals accept or reject deviations. The desk does not award a contract and does not certify code compliance.

Boundaries that stay in writing

No original-brand supply

Searching a brand is allowed. Offering that brand’s product, logo, or dealer status is outside this service.

No invented capacity

Weekly output, crane counts, and plant locations come from the supplier’s own statement, checked against the quoted system.

No borrowed certificates

ISO 9001, IAS AC472, or an AWS D1.1 note is useful only when it names the plant and the work being quoted.

No mixed code stories

Manufactured housing rules, modular state programs, and site-built IBC paths are identified separately.

No unlabeled savings

The desk asks for factory quotations on one scope. It does not publish a percent below a market price.

No silent substitutions

A change in clear span, insulation, or foundation interface is shown to the buyer before it is treated as equal.

Start with the requirement, not a brand claim

Company, email, specification, quantity, destination, and timing are enough to open the file. Budget and finish preference can wait until the buyer knows them.

Submitting lets the desk review the brief and ask factories for quotations on that written scope. Read the Privacy Policy. Stock, price, code compliance, and brand compatibility stay unconfirmed until a named supplier answers the exact system.
